What exceptional value! For take-away the price is significantly decreased. Which is awesome because this place isn't very good.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Food excellent. Had a good cup of coffee and a catch with the owner, as I new her from old. Going back tomorrow for lunch.
I love fish and chips and I only visit England once a year, so I'm always looking for recommendations and Rowlies is one of the better examples. I got the large cod which I pile of perfect chips and baked beans and a battered sausage as well for old times sake. The beans were an unexpected pleasure, complimenting the chips with vinegar well. One minor negative was the fish was ever so slightly less fresh than other times. Still very tasty, but not quite on. Tea was delicious as well. The sausage was exactly add I remembered from 35 years back and just right with ketchup.
On holiday in the area looking for something to eat. I had read the reviews and my daughter had recently eaten here and said it was good. We both had cod and chips to takeaway. It was about 15 minutes before closing but everything was cooked fresh. It was lovely, with generous portions. The cod was fresh and nice and meaty. The chips were proper fish shop chips. The batter on my fish was lovely but on hubby's it did go a bit soggy this didn't spoil he's enjoyment though. It was more than likely because they were straight from the fryer and then wrapped. The only thing that could have made this better was if you had had rock salmon my favourite fish. Will certainly come again when we are on holiday again
Absolutely amazing food.Probably the best fish and chips I've ever had. Staff did an amazing job under extremely busy conditions.Overall very impressive service and food. Highly recommend:-) and thank you for a great meal!
